Admission Notice: 2016-2017

Women’s College Silchar

Date: 03-06-2016

Application forms and Prospectus for admission into B. A., & B. Com. 1st Semester Programme and H. S. 1st Year (Arts & Commerce) and will be issued from 04-06-2016 on payment of Rs.200.00 (Rupees Two hundred) only from the College during office hours.

Preference in Admission will be given to the students who have passed their last qualifying examination in the current year as a regular candidate (i.e. not through distance education mode). The students passed out in HS examinations from Women’s College will also be given 1st preference in admission into TDC.

Candidates are required to produce the copies of the following documents at the time of submissions of their filled in application forms:

  1. Attested copy of all testimonials from H.S.L.C. onwards.

  2. Two copies of passport size coloured photographs taken recently.

  3. Certificate from competent authority for SC, ST, OBC, MOBC, PH, TGL etc.

  4. A student who passed the qualifying examination earlier than the year, in which admission is sought, will have to submit a “Gap Period Certificate” regarding her activities during the period and the reasons thereof. The consideration of such cases is completely at the discretion of the college authority.

The candidates are to produce the following in original at the time of admission:

  • All testimonials from the last qualifying examination.

  • Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.

  • Migration certificate (in case of students passed from boards/councils other than SEBA/AHSEC)

  • Certificate from competent authority for SC, ST, OBC, MOBC, TGL etc.

·     Admissions will be strictly on the basis of merit and the reservation policy for SC, ST, OBC, MOBC, PH, TGL etc. will be followed as per Assam Government’s rule.

·      Students passed out from Women’s College are to take admission into TDC (Arts/Commerce): From 13th June to 18th June, 2016, otherwise their selection will be as per merit.

Direct Admission to TDC (Arts/Commerce: From 13th June to 18th June, 2016

  • Eligibility criteria: At least 50 % marks in HS (10+2) under AHSEC. Students of Women’s College, Silchar are to take admission within 18th June, 2016. No preference will be given to them after 18th June, 2016.

  • For Honours Course: At least 50% marks on average and minimum 50 marks in the concerned subject

Direct Admission to HS (Arts/Commerce): From 6th June to 11th June, 2016

  • Eligibility Criteria: At least 60% marks in HSLC.

Other students having lower percentage of marks and/or who are unable to take direct admission as per the above criteria/schedule are allowed to submit their filled in forms and their selection will be notified according to their merit following the prevailing rules for reservations as scheduled hereunder:

Issue of Forms & Prospectus: From 4th June to 18th June, 2016

Submission of forms:

For both HS & TDC : within 18th June, 2016, up to 2.00 p.m.

Notification of selection list:

For HS : 20th June 2016 at 10.00 a.m.

For TDC : within 22nd June 2016 at 3.00 p.m.

Admission:

For HS: 20th June, 2016 to 22nd June, 2016 (from 10.30 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.)

For TDC: 23rd June, 2016 to 25th June, 2016 (from 10.30 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.)

N.B.

The candidate must remain present at the time of admission.

Selection will be treated as cancelled if the candidate does not take admission within the notified dates and no request for admission after the scheduled dates will be entertained.

  • Eligibility Criteria: At least 50% marks in HSLC under SEBA / at least 60% in HSLC under CBSE.

This is for general information that admission into H.S. 1st year (both Arts & Commerce) for the session 2013-2014 will start as per programme and criteria noted below

Date of distribution of Admission forms and prospectus : From 22nd May 2013 on payment of Rs. 150.00 (Rupees one hundred fifty) only.

Criteria :

  1. Students who obtained 40% and above marks in HSLC or equivalent Examination, 2013 (without compartmental and gap period) can take direct admission. Admission will be given on the basis of first-come-first-serve. Admission From 23rd May to 31st May 2013.

  2. Students who have obtained below 40% marks (without compartmental and gap period) in HSLC or equivalent exam, 2013 are allowed to submit their admission forms along with necessary documents within 31st May, 2013 by 2 P.M.

A list of selected candidates will be published on 1st June, 2013 (the selection will be made according to merit, subject to availability of seats).  Admission From 3rd June, 2013 onwards till the availability of seats.

Date of distribution of Admission forms and prospectus : From 22nd May 2013 on payment of Rs. 150.00 (Rupees one hundred fifty) only.

Criteria :

  1. Students who obtained 45% and above marks in H.S. Final or equivalent Examination, 2013 (without gap period) can take direct admission. Admission will be given on the basis of first-come-first-serve. Admission will starts from 1st June, 2013 and continue upto  to 8th June, 2013.

  2. There is no percentage bar for the students who have passed H.S. from Women’s College, Silchar. They are to take their admission within 8th June, 2013 positively.

    Students of Women’s College, Silchar failing to take their admission within due date will be treated as par with the students of other institutions.

  3. Students who have obtained below 45% marks (without gap period) in HS Final or equivalent exam, 2013 are allowed to submit their admission forms along with necessary documents within 7th June, 2013 by 2 P.M.

    A list of selected candidates will be published on 8th June, 2013 by 4 P.M. (the selection will be made according to merit, subject to availability of seats).
